THE storm has passed but I fear it will take decades for the dust to settle. Divisions in communities and families throughout the country could linger on and on for years to come.
People who wished to remain in the EU demanded a second vote on EU membership, essentially that’s what they got with the general election. Boris Johnson secured a thumping victory for the Conservatives, giving him support for his mantra Get Brexit done.
Without doubt difficult times lay ahead, but it’s time to move on. Resolve and wartime spirit is what’s needed to put the Great back into Great Britain. What is not needed is years of denial, bitter sulking and stubborn refusal to accept the decision. Meanwhile Margaret Thatcher remains dead.
