LETTER: Labour will leave us with higher tax bills
WE live in an area close to where the legendary Robin Hood used to operate, I think he was a bit of a Yorkshire lad, so the idea of taking from the rich and distributing to the poor is bound to have a special appeal.
The Sherriff of Nottingham no longer needs to ride through Sherwood Forest to move cash around but instead sits in her castle pressing a few buttons and money moves around hopefully safer. If tax hikes make the UK unattractive for billionaires to live in, they will simply move their address to a country with a more favourable tax regime and enjoy better weather to boot! The rest of us would be left with ever increasing tax bills to pay for Labour’s extravagance. We would all be a lot poorer, but then this may be a strategy – more Labour voters next time round.
