LETTER: Anti-litter team should follow refuse collectors

I REFER to your excellent article in January 5 edition and suggest that if the anti-litter team followed the refuse collectors, particularly on blue bag and box collection days, the fines that could be issued to these litterers would mean that there is no need to increase the council tax.

They manage to drop paper, cardboard, cans and aluminium foil containers on a regular basis on most streets but never pick it up.

At least they run over it if it is on the road so that it does not blow away and litter the hedgerows!
