It's the final cut for Swinton salon as owners call it a day

A HAIR salon which has built up a loyal clientele over almost 50 years closes its doors for the last time this weekend.

Margaret founded the Tudor Rose salon on Queen Street in Swinton in 1974 and it became a popular place for a cuppa and a chat as well as a haircut.

But she and her daughter Julie Adey, who joined the business in 2001, have decided to call it a day.

They are selling up after Margaret and her husband John both suffered health problems.

Julie, who cares for her parents while still working in the salon, said a reception will be held to mark the closing at 4pm on Saturday at Pastures Lodge.

“We’ll be welcoming all past and present clients, friends and family to toast the final curtain and offer thanks for their loyalty,” said the experienced stylist, who is also a foster carer for three children.

“They’ve been an essential part of the story.”
