THE Clipper Club is the Rotherham Advertiser’s long-standing club exclusively for its younger readers aged three to ten. The personal data we collect for membership;

We will issue the child with a membership number and add them to the Clipper Club database.
We ask for parents or guardians personal details as a point of contact for all correspondence because we will never contact the child directly.

Personal data from competitions, Free ads, Events and Clipper Club will automatically be added into the database for our legitimate interests.
We will only contact those who have given consent to do so. Contact will be made via their chosen method, weekly newsletter, email, post or telephone.
Inactive accounts will be contacted after 396 days and then if still inactive deleted after that period.
By filling in the in-paper coupon you are entering into an agreement with the third-party and we can no longer be held responsible how your data is used and stored. We advise that you to read their own privacy policies.

Letters to the editor
When a letter is submitted for publication it is stored on one specific email address, that of the editor.
The letter will be stored until publication and for two weeks after in case of complaint regarding any editorial alteration. If a letter is unused it will be deleted, along with the details of the sender, one month on from our receiving it.
Similarly, reader inquiries are stored until the query has been satisfactorily dealt with.
Handwritten letters are kept in a file by the editor and destroyed after one month.

When you place an advert with a member of staff your personal details will be stored on our database;
