Wath man on trial over city centre murder

TWO men — including one from Rotherham — have gone on trial charged with a murder in Sheffield city centre murder last year.

Dereck Owusu (39), of Strathmore Grove, Wath, is standing trial at Sheffield Crown Court alongside Louis James (47), of Manor Lane, Sheffield, over the killing of 26-year-old Reece Radford (pictured).

Mr Radford was stabbed on September 29 at Arundel Gate, Sheffield City Centre, and was in critical condition for several days before he died on October 4.

A postmortem found he had been stabbed once in the chest.

The pair were initially charged with attempted murder but the more serious charge was brought after Mr Radford died.
