Update: Rotherham dual carriageway reopened after woman "helped to safety"
A MAJOR road in Rotherham which was closed this morning due to a police incident reopened more than six hours later.
Wortley Road in Kimberworth was cordoned off at 7.10am at the Fenton Road roundabout, with both carriageways of the road towards the town centre closed.
Police said they had been called after reports of concern for the safety of a woman on a bridge.
The road reopened at about 1.30pm.
A police spokeswoman said: the woman “has been helped to safety and will be given the necessary support by partner agencies.”
