Sports club official's anger after junior football pitch damaged by off-road bikers

AN OFF-ROAD biker was caught on camera damaging a sports field by doing “donuts” late at night.

Wickersley Youth Junior Football Club said “mindless vandals” had caused damaged to the Ruby Cook playing field off Flanderwell Lane.

The incident happened at about 10pm on New Year’s Day and has been reported to the police.

A spokesperson said: “We spend thousands of pounds a year to maintain these pitches so the local kids can have a safe place to play football.

“If anyone has any information on who this is then please message the page or someone in the club.”

The club official said they had “very clear CCTV” showing the face of one nuisance rider which had been passed on to the police.
