Rotherham bus blaze among weekend incidents

FIREFIGHTERS were called to a bus on fire at Rotherham Interchange on Saturday evening.

The accidental blaze at the station on Frederick Street took 15 minutes to deal with from 6.10pm.

On Sunday, there was a deliberate fire involving a van on Wath Road at Wombwell shortly after 12.30am.

Firefighters from Rotherham station also attended a tree and bushes on fire at Dovercourt Road in Masbrough at 8.30pm yesterday.

“The fire is believed to have been started deliberately,” said a spokesperson for SYFR. “The crew came away at 9.40pm.”

This morning, there were deliberate car fires on Charles Road in Wath at 4.25am and at Maltkiln Street, off Alma Road, at 6.40am.
