A ROYAL visitor took off from Rotherham today after a mini-tour of South Yorkshire.

The Queen’s daughter, who has the official title Princess Royal, was snapped arriving at Brinsworth’s Phoenix Park at 3.30pm today by car and climbing into a waiting helicopter.

On a snow-hit day, the princess had been due to launch the Ethel Trust Community Barge at Victoria Quays in Sheffield, see the ice cream and milk-producing Our Cow Molly Farm in Dungworth and visit Special Quality Alloys, also in Sheffield.

Another appointment in the diary was at ITM Power, another venue in the city.

In the end, the first two engagements were scrapped and she only made it to the final pair.
