Large waste fire again at Kiveton Park Industrial Estate

FIREFIGHTERS have been called out for at least the fourth time in two months to extinguish yet another fire at Kiveton Park Industrial estate.

Crews from Aston Park, Maltby, Birley Moor, Parkway and Rotherham were in attendance this morning at the now infamous estate to tackle a large waste fire.

They were supported by Nottinghamshire firefighters and called to the scene at 7.30am.

The Advertiser understands that the fire service were called out previously on August 3, September 9 and September 21 to tackle fires at the same site. 

“Please avoid the area if you can and keep windows closed if you live in the area, in order to avoid the smoke,” the fire service said. this morning.

“We are aware local residents have been subject to smoke from this incident several times in recent months — please be assured our crews are working hard to get it extinguished as soon as possible.”

Rotherham Council also asked residents to follow advice from the service and added: “Avoid the area if you can and keep windows closed if you live in the area, in order to avoid the smoke.”
