Four Rotherham businesses caught selling fireworks to children

POLICE caught four businesses red handed when they carried test purchases in the sale of fireworks to minors.

Rotherham South NPT said had undertaken the operation on Wednesday at six businesses in the borough.

They sent 17-year-old volunteers to purchase fireworks, police said.

Of the six businesses, officers said, four failed the test purchase.

They will now be subject to further follow up work with trading standards, a spokesperson said.
