Firework thrown into post box and terraced property fire keeps crews busy over Hallowe'en weekend

FIREFIGHTERS had a busy Hallowe’en weekend dealing with a number of incidents including a house reportedly set on fire and a firework that was thrown through a property’s post box. 

Crews were called to Elizabeth Street, Goldthorpe, on Saturday at around 12.05am after reports that a terraced property was on fire. 

It took two hours to tackle the blaze which was started deliberately, according to the fire service.

Firefighters were also called out later in the day to a post box fire on Weston Road, Balby, later at 1.55pm.

A firework had been thrown into a postbox and the fire took 20 minutes for crews to put out, a spokesperson said. 

Crews were then called out to a deliberate car fire at 11pm on Centurion Street, Templeborough, with crews leaving the scene 35 minutes later.
