Firefighters rescue two 'casualties' at Rother Valley today
FIREFIGHTERS brushed up on their water rescue training at Rother Valley Country Park today (Monday) as part of Drowning Prevention Week.
Water rescue teams from Rotherham, Aston Park, Lowedges and Dearne stations teamed up to rescue 'two casualties' from the lake.
In one scenario, the casualty had got into the water and disappeared after having a few drinks.
The casualty had become stranded and was stuck on an island in the middle of the lake.
The casualties were played by a member of of the water rescue team and a dummy.
