Distressed woman investigation at a 'dead end'

A POLICE investigation launched after a woman was seen in a state of distress in a car has still found no answers.

The force launched an appeal after the woman was seen at around 5.15pm on Saturday in the back of a small dark coloured car, possibly a Vauxhall Corsa, on Haugh Road in Rotherham.

But despite an investigation nothing has been found, though enquiries continue.

A police spokeswoman said that CCTV footage of the area had been studied, missing persons and domestic violence victims lists investigated and checks on vehicles carried out.

The spokeswoman said: “It has come to a dead end.”

But the police would still be keen to hear from anyone with information about the incident, including dashcam footage taken in the area at the time.

People can call 101 quoting incident 692 of September 29.
