Dalton house fire "caused by tea lights"

FIREFIGHTERS spent more than an hour at a house fire believed to have been started by tea lights, which left one person needing treatment by paramedics.

The callout at 10.30pm on Friday saw crews from Rotherham, Maltby and Dearne stations dispatched to Netherfield View, Dalton.

A spokesperson said: “The accidental fire was in a bedroom and is believed to have started due to tea lights.  

“The occupant was suffering with smoke inhalation and was left in the care of the ambulance crew.”

Firefighters came away at 11.35pm.
