Arsonists strike twice over weekend after cars set alight

FIRE crews dealt with two car fires after arsonists struck over the weekend.

A crew from Edlington was called to Bolton Street, Denaby Main, at 10.04pm to tackle a car on fire next to a skate park, which is thought to have been started deliberately.

On Sunday, crews from Aston Park were called to Swinston Hill, Dinnington, at 4.18pm.

A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said: “Upon arrival they found a Ford Fiesta that had been dumped in a field and set alight. This was dealt with by 4.56pm.”
