Arsonists strike four times overnight across borough

VEHICLES, rubbish and a CCTV unit were set alight by arsonists across the borough overnight.

A car was deliberately set on fire at 8.45pm on East Field Lane, Laughton.

Firefighters from Maltby station spent 45 minutes tackling the incident.

Aston firefighters were called out to a CCTV unit on fire at 10.10pm on Laughton Road, Dinnington, which is believed to have been started deliberately. The crew left the scene at 10:35pm.

Firefighters from Dearne station later attended a deliberate van fire at 1.05am on Deightonby Street, Thurnscoe, and came away at 1.45am.

Aston firefighters were then called out to a deliberate fire involving wood and rubbish at 3.55am on Rotherham Road, Beighton.

The crew left the scene at 4.35am.
