Youngsters commemorate Holocaust
YOUNG people took the lead in battling hate and commemorating the horrors of the Holocaust.
Students from across the borough played a key role in last Wednesday’s Holocaust Memorial Day event in All Saints’ Square, and hosted their own event the following evening at the Town Hall, based on this year’s theme of Don’t Stand By.
Pupils from Oakwood School and St Ann’s Primary took part by providing music and readings at the town centre event and then shared stories of hate crime and discrimination through presentations, drama and artwork at the Town Hall.
