Win one of four family tickets

Afantastic three days are guaranteed for visitors to England’s premier countryside event, the Great Yorkshire Show, and now is your chance to win tickets to be part of the action.

Each year, organisers, the Yorkshire Agricultural Society, pull out all the stops to bring new and exciting attractions to the three-day show each year – and 2014 is no exception.

Alongside more than 5,000 of Britain’s best cattle, sheep and pigs, and 2,000 horses and ponies competing for top awards during the event, there’s a host of other attractions to suit all tastes.

For the first time in the Show’s history, there will be classes for British White cattle, one of the UK’s oldest breeds, while female sheep shearers will be competing for the first time. Main ring attraction Lorenzo will astound visitors with his thrilling equestrian displays each day, while the Great British Pole Climbing Championships return to the show after a 12-month break. The Yorkshire Volunteers Band will provide the ‘pomp and circumstance’ throughout the show. National and regional designers feature on the catwalk daily in the Skipton Building Society Fashion Pavilion, while the best food and drink can be tasted and bought in the ever-popular Food Hall.

Top chefs from across the region, including TV personality Rosemary Shrager, will be sharing their culinary skills with visitors at the Cookery Theatre while the Garden Show is a must for green-fingered visitors. And if you love to shop, then you won’t be disappointed, with more than 1,000 trade stands selling everything from tractors to designer clothing!
