CHURCH SERVICES: The times and locations of Sunday services are – 1st and 2nd Sundays 10am at St Peter’s Church; 3rd and 4th Sundays 10am at St Leonard’s Church; 5th Sundays usually at St Leonard’s unless a change is notified in the newsletter.

 

ST GERARD’S CATHOLIC PRIMARY SCHOOL: The Feast of St Gerard’s Family Disco – on October 10 at the Top Club, Thrybergh  7pm until late, tickets £1 each. School Council – the school held its first school council meeting and the group discussed plans to improve the Healthy Tuck Shop. St Gerard’s Support Fund – the school asks for a contribution from each family of 60p per week, which can also be paid as £8 per term or £24 per year. Learning mentor Mrs Angel can offer support and guidance on issues including positive parenting, social and emotional development, bereavement, anxiety, friendships and more. Every Monday and Friday 8.30am she will be in her room outside class 5. To make an appointment, speak to Mrs Angel who will organise a suitable time. Golden Stars Club – each week during Achievement Assembly one child from each class will receive an invitation to the Golden Stars Club on Friday afternoon. The children are chosen for many different reasons, each showing that they are trying to be good members of St Gerard’s family. After School Clubs – Tuesday: High Fives (Y4-6)  3.15- 4.15pm, choir (Y2-6) 3.15- 4.15pm; Thursday: Reading Circle (Y3-6) 3.15- 4.15pm, board games (Y1-3) 3-4pm, video club (Y6) 3.15- 4.15pm. Birthdays – Ethan Jeffries. Golden Stars – Jack Browne, Finley Matthews, Emily Cardwell, Nicole Cooney. Term dates – September 3-October 22, November 2-December 18, January 4-February 5, February 15-March 24, April 11-May 27, May 2 closed, June 6-July 19. Teacher training days are October 23, April 8. Diary dates – Today: coffee morning cancelled; October 2: CAFOD Family Fast Day, Class 1 visit to Conisbrough Castle; October 10: Friends of St Gerard’s family disco; October 16: Feast of St Gerard’s with mass celebrated with Bishop Ralph 9.15am.
