CHURCH SERVICES: The times and locations of Sunday services are – 1st and 2nd Sundays 10am at St Peter’s Church; 3rd and 4th Sundays 10am at St Leonard’s Church; 5th Sundays usually at St Leonard’s unless a change is notified in the newsletter.

 

ST GERARD’S CATHOLIC PRIMARY SCHOOL: The next parents’ evening is on March 2. Appointment slips have been sent out. To make alternative arrangements, speak to the relevant class teacher. Appointments for children in Class 1 and 2 can be made from 1pm. Class 3 Assembly – the class showed what they had learnt about the pilgrimage to The Door of Mercy at St Marie’s Cathedral during an assembly. Class 1 Farm Visit – the children went to Wentworth Farm. Easter Egg Raffle – tickets can be bought for 20p each before and after school. All proceeds will be donated to the minibus appeal. March 19 – St Patrick’s Celebration Race Night 7.30-11pm at Dalton Parish Hall, tickets £10 (adults only) from school at the end of the school day, or ring Kate 07864861629. All proceeds towards St Gerard’s Minibus Fund. Class assemblies – March 2 9.15am Class 1 topic assembly; March 9 9.15am Class 4 topic assembly; April 13 Class 5 Thornbridge assembly. Birthdays – Lydia Mather, Alexa Hukin, Maddison Churms. After School Clubs – Monday: football 3.15-4.15pm, health, nutrition and fitness 3.15-4.30pm; Tuesday: choir 3.15-4.15pm; Wednesday: Reading Circle 3.15-4.15pm; Thursday: Y6 SPAG Club 3.15-4.15pm. St Gerard’s Support Fund – the school asks for a contribution from each family of 60p per week, which can also be paid as £8 per term or £24 per year. The girls who took part in the Hi 5s final came third.

 

ST LEONARD’S THRYBERGH: From March 7, St Leonard’s Church will be open 10am-4pm for the public to view inside the building. There will be people there who will try and answer any questions. This event runs for 40 days every Monday.
