CHURCH SERVICES: The times and locations of Sunday services are – first and second Sundays 10am at St Peter’s Church; 3rd and 4th Sundays 10am at St Leonard’s Church; 5th Sundays usually at St Leonard’s unless a change is notified in the newsletter.

 

ST GERARD’S CATHOLIC PRIMARY SCHOOL: First Holy Communion – Ava Fallon-Robinson, Amelie Williams, Cassia Williams, Leila Hukin and Grace Whiting received their First Holy Communion at St Alban’s and Blessed English Martyrs. Class 3 visited Rawmarsh CLC. They did some green screen filming, photography and created digital art on the computers. All of their work will be on display at the school art gallery next half term. Mrs Karen Jacobs has been appointed as new temporary Breakfast Club supervisor and will begin after the half term break. Sponsored Bike Ride – Lee Simmons will be taking part in a 200 mile bike ride to raise money for the National Autistic Society and St Gerard’s Minibus Fund. Sports Day will be held on June 17. As in previous years, this will be an all day event and there will be a family picnic lunch on the school field. Golden Stars – Jacob Bazo, Jamie-leigh Smith, James Brailsford, Tameka Chipunza, Harrison Wilson. After School Clubs – Monday: football 3.15-4.15pm; Tuesday: choir 3.15-4.15pm, KS2 tennis 3.15-4.15pm; Wednesday: Reading Club 3.15-4.15pm. Birthdays – Isaac Ellis, Sam Padley, Mia Joyce. Y2 SATS throughout May. May 24 – Y6 St Bernard’s transition meeting (pupils). June 6 – Class 5 mass. June 13-17 Y1 phonics screening check. June 15 welcome meeting for children and parents who start school in September. June 17 Sports Day. June 22-23 Transition Days. June 24 school closed for teacher training. June 29-30 Art Gallery in school. July 7 Class 5 pilgrimage to Padley. July 13 KS2 concert. July 18 leavers’ mass 9.30am and awards ceremony 1.30pm.
