ST BEDE’S CHURCH: A remembrance concert will be held on November 11 at St Bernard’s School 1.45-3pm community performance, 6.30-8.15pm evening performance. Tickets £1 each, available from St Bernard’s. Contact Mrs Beck [email protected], 01709 828183. 

 

ST PAUL’S CHURCH: Family communion was celebrated on September 27 10.30am, Rev Charles Grice officiating. At a baptism service 12.30pm, two children (Ava Louise Clarke and Oliver James Longford) and two adults (Beverley Smith and Andrew Lockwood) were baptised by Rev Grice. St Paul’s now has a website with details of services, events and other information. Access via A Church Near You and postcode S61 1AH. There is a box in church for donations of tinned food, biscuits, perfumes etc for The Shiloh Project. Soup and roll lunches on alternate Wednesdays are now suspended. The Rotherham Local History Society will meet at St Paul’s on October 17 10.30am. Equal to Half a Man is a lecture about women in mining and mining communities, cost £2. The society will meet each month, annual subscription £12. A visit to Wentworth Woodhouse stately home is being arranged in mid-October at a cost of £15, anyone interested contact churchwardens. St Paul’s Autumn Fair will be held on November 7 11am.
