ST BEDE’S CHURCH: There will be a deanery mass on November 11 11am, this will replace the 9.30am mass that day. A remembrance concert will take place at St Bernard’s School 1.45pm and 6.30pm, tickets available from school. The Christmas fayre will take place on November 22 in Forty Martyrs Hall 1pm and items may be brought to church for this fundraising event. Be Vox are holding a fundraising concert in St Marie’s Cathedral on November 28 7pm, tickets by donation ring 0114 270 3994. There is a new Diocese of Hallam website available at http:// hallam-diocese.com. Bishop Ralph will lead a pilgrimage to the Holy Land March 7-14, contact 0114 236 4076. There will be a Divine Mercy pilgrimage to Poland September 7-14, contact 01226763220. A birthday mass to celebrate Fr Len May’s 90th birthday will be held on November 21 11am at St Mary Magdalene, Maltby.

 

ST PAUL’S CHURCH: Family communion was celebrated on October 25 and Rev Charles Grice officiated. Family communion will be celebrated Sunday 10.30am with Rev Charles Grice officiating. St Paul’s now has a website with details of services, events and other information. Access via A Church Near You and postcode S61 1AH. There is a box in church for any donations of tinned food, biscuits, perfumes etc for The Shiloh Project for homeless people in Rotherham. November 7 – St Paul’s Autumn Fair 11am. November 17 – the visit to Wentworth Woodhouse stately home 12.45pm, cost £15, contact churchwardens. November 19 – meeting of St Paul’s PCC  7pm in church. The Rotherham Local History Society will meet at St Paul’s on December 12 10.30am when Growing Up in Rotherham in the 20th Century will be the topic, cost £2. The society meets each month, annual subscription £12.
