KIMBERWORTH PARK WALKING GROUP: October 14 – 32 members completed a three-and-a-half mile circular walk around Winterhills and Droppingwell, taking in ancient woodland, before returning to St John’s Church.

 

BARKERS PARK BOWLING CLUB: Bowlers continued their singles competition matches last week.  Mick Parlett, Pat Holroyd, John Wood, Mary Poultney, Brian Scrimshaw, Kevin Swallow and John Kirk progressed to the next round of the competition. The bowling green will be open during the winter months, weather permitting.

KIMBERWORTH PARK CLUB 50+: The weekly indoor bowls took place on October 19 at The Forty Martyrs Church Hall. There were 68 people at the weekly 50+ Club. Bingo was played, as well as a raffle and the members’ loyalty draw and the members treat was given out. Members were reminded that the free computer classes will start in two weeks. Free vouchers were given out for the multi-purpose gym and free tickets were issued for an event at the Holiday Inn, Sheffield, which will be held on October 30 next to those who were not going to Doncaster races. An evening was attended by members at The Dalton Miners Club, Doncaster Road, on October 20 where the Lions Club presented the club with a donation of £500. Contact Sheila Walker 01709552543.
