RUDDLE CENTRE: Annual Christmas Brass Band Concert – Dinnington Colliery Band will be playing again at the Ruddle Centre on November 28 7pm. The ticket price will be the usual £5.50. People can bring their own drink with a glass. Tickets on sale from the Ruddle Centre or through a board member or leave a message on the answerphone or drop an email. Annual Christmas Luncheon – the Luncheon Club meets on the first Thursday of every month and will be celebrating Christmas at the Club on December 3 12.30pm. To book, contact Val Hoyes 01709 816410. There will be entertainment and a Christmas raffle. New members welcome to the Luncheon Club – the Luncheon club at the Ruddle Centre has been meeting for four years. Around 30-40 people attend but there is always room for new members. The two-course meal is £4. Parent and Toddler Group – the group meets every Tuesday 11am-1pm, cost £3. The group is well equipped with new toys and activities thanks to a funding bid last year from South Yorkshire Community Fund. The group has new babies, tiny tots and mums, dads, nans and granddads and other carers. The Ruddle Centre organises the occasional visits from the Library Service for a nursery rhyme singalong and story time. In better weather the children can go outside to the grassed area under the supervision of their carers. They are also looking for volunteers to set up the equipment or lend a hand with the running of the place. All volunteers for this group would be expected have a DBS check. Art Class – the Braithwell Art Class has now moved. It now meets every Tuesday 1-3pm at Wadworth Parish Hall. The group is attending the NEC Birmingham on November 5 to see the Alive Art Materials along with the Crafts for Christmas, Stitching and Sewing, and Hobby Crafts exhibitions.
