Victorian Christmas treat for Rotherham shoppers

THE SIGHTS, sounds, tastes and smells of a traditional Christmas are coming to Rotherham town centre this weekend thanks to an event with a 19th century twist.

Rotherham will be travelling back in time between 10am and 3pm on Saturday for a free Dickensian Christmas celebration, complete with music, entertainment, fairground rides and a hog roast.

The event also features musical and street entertainment including walkabout fun from Dizzy and Dotty, The Great Mysto, strolling Victorian magician, and, to add to the traditional feel, Rotherham Town Brass Band and Thorpe Hesley Choir.
