Try a festive ramble with Rotherham historian
The trek on Saturday, December 23, will highlight Rotherham’s transport history and is organised in association with the Great Central Railway Society.
The six-mile walk is free to attend and covers a meandering six mile route from Kiveton Bridge railway station to Woodhouse station, taking in Aston, Waleswood, Brookhouse, the Rother Valley Country Park, the old Beighton station site, and Woodhouse Junction along the way.

Hide AdPeople wanting to take part need to be at Kiveton Bridge railway station at 10am, for a prompt 10.15am start, and the walkers are expected to terminate at Woodhouse station at 4.15pm.
The walks are always popular and Mr Gay is expecting around 30 people to participate.
Hot food and drink will be available on the lunch beak, and the walk will also include poetry readings, lost railway stations and lines, and a miniature railway. Sherry and mince pies will also be on offer.
