Top safety tips for pensioners on National Older People’s Day

SEVENTY pensioners visited Lifewise for a day of activities helping them to become more safety and security-conscious.

Topics included postal fraud and other scams, mobility scooter and road safety and disability awareness.

Organiser Andy Foster, project officer at Hellaby centre, said: “We had structured this annual event differently from previous years and it worked more or less like a dream.

“We secured the services of some excellent speakers, including Marilyn Baldwin OBE, who along with her colleague Liz, delivered a funny but moving scenario about her experiences with her mum regarding postal fraud, which led to Marilyn creating the charity Think Jessica.”
