Thorpe Hesley Christmas Tree Festival

CHRISTMAS is coming to Thorpe Hesley with the annual celebration of spruced-up festive trees.

The village Christmas Tree Festival will be held at Holy Trinity Church at 7pm on Thursday, December 3.

The event, with 19 trees to be decorated by community and church groups on the theme of Christmas songs, will be opened by the Mayor of Rotherham, Cllr Maggi Clark.

The church will be open daily from Friday, December 4, to Sunday, December 6, from 10am to 6pm.  

Admission is free and refreshments will be available.

The Christmas celebrations continue on Saturday, December 5, with a Victorian Christmas Market from 5pm with entrance costing £1 (children free).

Attractions include Christmas ale, mulled wine, hot food, stalls and games, plus a live outdoor nativity play at 6pm and 7.30pm.
