The Sherlocks announce UK tour next autumn

SOUTH Yorkshire’s band of brothers The Sherlocks brought the curtain down on a “rollercoaster” tour with the Kaiser Chiefs — before announcing their own next headlining shows.

The Bolton on Dearne-formed band supported the Chiefs — described by The Sherlocks as a “truly class act on and off the stage” — as they criss-crossed the country throughout November, promoting third album World I Understand.

Now the four-piece, who are working on album four, have revealed details of a UK tour next autumn.

Starting in Bristol next October 5, The Sherlocks play 12 dates culminating in a homecoming show at Sheffield’s O2 Academy on November 4.

Meanwhile, Rotherham’s Alvarez Kings have released their latest in a series of 2022 singles.

The bittersweet and reflective Magic, which you can stream or buy, features singer Simon Thompson’s distinctive soulful vocals and reflects on lost love and the impact of growing older.

The band told the Advertiser earlier this year they had moved away from the traditional album model and aimed to focus on regularly releasing singles.
