Strangers help Krystana fulfil Race for Life promise to sponsors

TWO Good Samaritans helped charity fundraiser Krystyna Mars keep her promise to complete the Race for Life in a wheelchair.

Krystyna’s daughter Hannah, who had been pushing her round the 5km route, found part of the course too difficult to negotiate and the pair had to stop.

But just as 65-year-old Krystyna thought she would have to let down her sponsors, two unknown men stepped in to help.

“I don’t know who they were, they were complete strangers but they pushed me all through the race and even sponsored me for £10,” a grateful Krystyna explained.

“It was absolutely beautiful and I would really like to thank them so much.”

Krystyna, who was supporting Cancer Research UK, last week had her head shaved to raise money for the charity at Our Lady and St Joseph’s primary school in Wath.

Her long time friend Linda Morawski died of cancer last month aged 62.
