You have the perfect chance to prove yourself as Rotherham gears up for its first Festival of Angels, with a host of prizes up for grabs.

The event takes place at Rotherham’s Minster Churchyard and Minster Gardens on December 16 but entries for the competition have to be handed in by next Monday, December 5.

The festival, from 4pm to 6pm, aims to bring the community together, with music, angel workshops and family activities.

Workshops are free of charge and open to all.

Categories for the angel contest include best angel more than 1ft tall, best decorated shop front, best community group angel, best angel made from recycled materials and best angel by a school.

Completed angels should be handed in to the Unity Centre in St Leonard’s Road, St Ann’s.
