Special events for Rotherham’s hard of hearing

EAR care experts will provide advice for anyone with hearing difficulties at sessions marking Deaf Awareness Week next week.

Patients who have benefited will help highlight the support available through Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust’s audiology service.

The first session is on Monday (19) in the Community Corner of Rotherham Hospital’s main entrance between 10am and 2pm.

The second will be at Rotherham Community Health Centre between 10am and 2pm on Wednesday.

Steering group member June Evans said: “I would think that most people start to experience issues with their ears as they age.

“It’s not uncommon to find yourself turning up the TV or asking people to repeat themselves. We want to let more people know help is on hand.”

The award-winning service is self-referral and offers advice about any issues relating to hearing. For more information, call 01709 423207 or visit www.earcarecentre.com.
