Shopping centre's Christmas promotion - free earplugs!

SICK of Slade? Wound up by Wizzard? Enraged by East 17?

The sound-stopping stunt is designed to entice shoppers who can’t think of anything worse than a seasonal diet of Slade, Wizzard and Mariah Carey blasting in every shop.

Prompted by Twitter talk, Meadowhall decided to give its shoppers the option to plug in and tune out to the Christmas ditties.

Centre director Darren Pearce (pictured) said: “I personally love all the Christmas records that come out every December but we know that enthusiasm isn't shared by everyone.

“In the run up to Christmas Eve, we are offering free ear plugs to any shoppers who would like to take a break from Bing Crosby and Boney M, even it if it is only for a couple of hours.”

The free ear plugs can be picked up at the Meadowhall Management Suite reception, just next to the Oasis Dining Quarter, while stocks last.
