School choirs and brass bands help region get into festive spirit

A COLLECTION of brass brands, school choirs and acoustic performers from across the region will be performing in Meadowhall throughout December to help visitors get into the seasonal spirit.

Among many, Rotherham Town Brass Band and Barnsley Brass Band will be performing traditional Christmas classics, while children from PYE Bank CE Primary School choir from Sheffield is set to sing a range of carols. 

Pop-Punk Barnsley resident Jacob Fox will be playing a mix of pop music and up-beat Christmas numbers and the Yorkshire Military Band will be performing various tunes.

Darren Pearce, Meadowhall Centre director, said: “It’s fantastic to have such a varied mix of musicians and choirs helping us to welcome Christmas in this year.

“We wanted to add to the Christmas spirit on the Malls with something a bit different and we hope all our visitors will enjoy the range of performers throughout the Christmas period.”
