Santa swaps sleigh - for a Segway!

FATHER Christmas will be swapping his sleigh for something a little bit sportier next week on with a day of festive celebrations.

The festive favourite will ride a Segway at Magna on Tuesday to promote the venue’s Christmas fair next weekend.

Donna Shaw, marketing and sales co-ordinator at Magna, said: “We all know that Father Christmas usually travels on a sleigh, but our Santa is getting a bit more up to date this year and is using the latest green method of personal transport.”

Once Santa has arrived, he will set up his grotto for the annual Christmas Family Fair from 10am to 4pm next Saturday and Sunday, with attractions including craft and gift stalls, pop-up science workshops, and seasonal food and drink.

The fair is free for under-16s and £2.50 for accompanying adults.

Entry also includes free entry to Magna Adventure Centre and the outdoor Sci-Tek play area, with a children's Christmas trail, guided steel tours and forge demonstrations.

A visit to the grotto to meet Santa costs £4.95 per child and includes a gift.
