A ROTHERHAM councillor who joined the crowds for the Queen’s funeral said he had been moved by floral tributes all over London.

A ROTHERHAM councillor who joined the crowds for the Queen’s funeral said he had been moved by the floral tributes all over London.

Cllr Lewis Mills and colleague Cllr Simon Burnett travelled to the capital to watch the funeral procession of Queen Elizabeth II on Monday.

“The streets were lined with people wanting to pay their respects”, said Cllr Mills, a Conservative councillor, who also went to see the flowers in Hyde Park.

Cllr Mills, who is also chair of Rotherham Young Conservatives, added: “The armed forces, Police and everyone involved have done Britain proud as they didn’t put a foot wrong.

“The floral tributes were very moving and plentiful throughout the capital.”
