Rotherham Community Awards open for nominations

DO you know an organisation or individual who has made a real difference to life in the community in Rotherham? Then why not nominate them for a Community Achievement Award.

Organised by Voluntary Action Rotherham on behalf of the Rotherham Partnership, the Community Achievement Awards are held annually to celebrate the work of individuals and projects in the voluntary and community sector that have made a significant difference to the communities of Rotherham.

There are three categories you can nominate people or organisations for; these are Volunteer, Young Volunteer (under 25) or Project.

Janet Wheatley, chief executive at Voluntary Action Rotherham, said: “Rotherham’s Community Achievement Awards are a special celebration. They recognise the significant work of people and projects in our borough that go that extra mile to support local people and communities.”

Those shortlisted will be invited to a glittering awards ceremony and dinner at the Carlton Park Hotel in November. They will receive a prestigious award in recognition of their work and lots of useful publicity as well.

If you know someone that deserves recognition for the fantastic work they do in the community then nominate them and give them a night to remember.

If you would like to nominate an individual or an organisation for an award please fill out a nomination form, available to download from www.varotherham.org.uk/community-achievement-awards. Hard copy nomination forms are also available by contacting Voluntary Action Rotherham 01709 829821.

Closing date for nominations is Friday August 28.
