There are 13 prizes at the Rotherham Advertiser Sports Awards, which will be held at Magna on the evening of March 23 and each will be presented by sporting celebrities Olympic badminton player Gail Emms MBE and former footballer David Garrido, alongside the sponsors of each category.

The awards include: Lifetime Achievement Award; Sportsman of the Year; Sportswoman of the Year; Club of the Year; Team of the Year; Junior Team of the Year; Manager/Coach of the Year; Volunteer of the Year; Community Award; Active4Life; Young Sportsman of the Year (13 - 18 years old); Young Sportswoman of the Year (13 - 18 years old); and Junior Sportsperson of the Year (12 years and under).

With an array of great sporting talent in the local community that is often not given the recognition it deserves, the Sports Awards aim to give something back to those who have already given so much. The awards will put the spotlight on clubs, teams, men, women and juniors – at both amateur and professional levels – who have achieved sporting success, and recognise them with an award at the glittering ceremony.
