PREVIEW: Counting the cash at Cast

AN interactive play for young people and their families will give theatregoers the chance to play with 10,000 real pound coins on stage.

Play Dough will be considering the value of money in the new production coming to Doncaster’s Cast theatre later this month (Feb).

Hosts Queenie and TooMuch divide the audience into two teams and then progress through a series of high-energy games while telling their story.

The Unlimited Theatre production is at Cast on February 27 and February 28.

Writer Clare Duffy said: “As we can see from the two characters in the show, the financial crisis affected everybody in some way and if we can help young people understand some of the sometimes mystical workings of money and hedge funds and going long or short, perhaps it can help them feel more engaged with that world as they grow up.

“Plus, who doesn’t love a good gameshow? Particularly when you are shovelling piles of £1 coins before a bubble bursts. That’s why I created Play Dough.”

The shows are at 2.30pm on February 27 and 11am and 2.30pm on February 28.

Tickets for Play Dough cost £8.50 for adults and £5.50 for children and are available on 01302 303 959 or by visiting castindoncaster.com.
