Mexborough and District Lions Club seeks new members to sustain community support

A CHARITY group with a “roar-some” record of helping the community is on the hunt for new members.

The membership of Mexborough and District Lions Club now stands at just ten, many of whom are aged over 80, prompting a call for new blood.

Their main fundraising revolves around their Christmas Sleigh, which they take around the streets in December.

Without more members, this year’s runs will not happen, cutting off their funds to help children in need.

The club meet at 8pm on the first and third Tuesday of the month at Rowms Lane Social Club in Swinton.
