Janet Mitchell School of Dance presented The Seasons at the Civic

It opened with The Dawning of Spring, an exciting Irish dance medley with music from Riverdance.

The show continued with a mixture of dance, with linking drama pieces from the pupils of Born to Perform, and a solo from Fiona Broadhead.

All the styles, classes and grades that the school offers were represented from the pre school introduction to dance group with Here Comes the Chickens to the senior jazz dancers’ Set Fire to the Rain.

But forget the idea that dancing schools are just for the young.

The adult tap class demonstrated in two well executed routines that tap is for everyone.

However, a slick show like this full of such talent doesn’t happen overnight. As well as the hours of training and practice put in by the performers there are the teachers, choreographers, organisers and behind the scenes team all of whom contributed to its success.
