Help little Lily May by taking on Santa Dash

DOZENS of Santas will ditch sleigh power for travelling on foot this weekend at a charity fun run.

Children’s disability charity, Brainwave, is organising a 5km Santa Dash at 9.30am on Saturday morning at Tickhill Cricket Club.

As a fun run, it is not a timed event and runners of all abilities (including walkers) are welcome to take part.

The Santa Dash is the first fundraising event that Brainwave has undertaken in Yorkshire.

Brainwave helps children living with disabilities and special needs to achieve greater independence.

It supports boys and girls like Maltby’s Lily May Earp, who suffers from a

rare condition called Chromosome 5 deletion and developmental delay.

Brainwave has developed an exercise programme tailored for Lily May to help her to develop better communication, greater strength, improved coordination and enhanced mobility.

Richard Clarke of Brainwave said: “The Santa Dash will be brilliant fun.

“There will be Christmas music as people gather for the run.

“There will be a special appearance by Santa himself to hand medals to all the runners.

“Afterwards there will be refreshments in the Cricket Club and some live music. It is a brilliant way to help local children, like Lily May.”

Runner registration places are £15 per person.

Registration starts at 9.30am ahead of the run at 10am.

Team packages are also available for local businesses to take part.

Santa Suits and runner medals will be provided to all participants.

All ages are welcome.
