Crystal's big chop for charity

LITTLE sparkler Crystal Hopewell faced the hairdresser’s scissors and lost lots of her locks for charity.

The seven-year-old from Ochre Dike Walk, Rockingham, donated 12 inches of her hair to the Little Princess Trust after undergoing the chop at The Salon in Rotherham town centre.

She has also raised almost £600 for Cranio Care Bears, which supports children who have craniosynostosis.

This a rare skull problem that causes a baby to be born with, or develop, an abnormally shaped head, which can cause persistent headaches, learning difficulties, eye problems and other symptoms in later childhood.

Crystal volunteered for the big snip in support of one-year-old Bobby Williams from Rotherham, who is awaiting surgery for the condition.

Cranio Care Bears support families of children with craniosynostosis and provides them with care packages including comfort blankets and cuddly hats.
