Concert-goers' invite to Sit Down and sing along to hit band James

MUSIC fans are being invited to Sit Down and sing along this summer as indie pop legends James join a series of seasonal concerts.

Rotary Clubs from South Yorkshire are putting on four shows again from June 30 to July 3 featuring three big name bands and a spectacular orchestral show.

Manchester James (pictured) – best known for the huge hits Sit Down, Come Home and She’s a Star — kick off the Music in the Gardens series at Sheffield’s Botanic Gardens on June 30.

Hit-makers The Feeling are on stage the following night and UK reggae icons UB40 aim to get the audience in the mood on July 2.

The series culminates with the Last Night at the Proms-style Last Night in the Gardens on July 3, with music from the Sheffield Philharmonic Orchestra and The Unite the Union Brass Band.

Music in the Gardens started life 12 years ago as one night of jazz in a marquee and as grown into a major fund raiser for local charities, raising over £250,000 since it began.

Co-organiser Andrew Bates said: “The appearance of James is a major deal for Music in the Gardens.
