Community safety sessions at Lifewise for older people

DOORSTEP crime, cyber scams and home fire safety will be among the topics covered at an event held at Lifewise.

The free WiseUp day at the Hellaby centre is organised by South Yorkshire Police and South Yorskshire Fire & Rescue.

Sessions last 30 minutes each from 10.30am to 2pm next Tuesday (22), with a half-hour break for lunch.

Other topics will be the Herbert Protocol early intervention scheme for vulnerable people at risk of going missing, and safe driving tips for older motorists.

Booking is essential, attendees are asked to arrive for 10am and are advised that they should bring their own packed lunch as there is no food available on site (but tea and coffee will be provided).

The centre, on Kea Park Close, is fully accessible and all on one floor. Car parking is available but with limited spaces.
