Christmas fund-raiser for teenage cancer battler
FAMILY of friends of a teenager battling cancer are holding a festive fund-raising evening.
Mince pies, shortbread and mulled wine will be on the menu at the event at the home of Alan and Irene Hartley in Manvers from 7pm on Wedneday.
Proceeds from the evening, which will also feature a raffle and bring and buy sale, will go to Sheffield Children’s Hospital, CLIC Sargent and PACT in honour of the couple’s 15-year-old grand-daughter Phillipa Hartley, who is undergoing treatment for non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
Cheques totalling £3,500 will be presented on the night to several charities.
