Chips for free for Rotherham dog owners

DOG owners are being urged to have their pets chipped for free next week to comply with a new law.

The free microchipping session takes place at Clifton Park Garden Rooms, next to Clifton Park Museum, between 11am and 3pm on Monday.

Dogs taking part must be at least 12 weeks old and should not have been treated for fleas for at least 24 hours before they are chipped.

From April 6, the law is changing and all dogs will be required to have a micro-chip.

The event is being organised by Rotherham Borough Council and the Dog’s Trust.
